Responsibilities
The focus of this position (Job ID 57164) is empowering the biodiversity collections communities with successful strategies for digitization of specimens via discovery and development of resources, participation in collaborations, and management of a digitization help desk and digitization knowledge-base.
Responsibilities include:
- Discovering and developing protocols, best practices, standards, and tools that facilitate digitization of biodiversity specimens. This includes assessment and synthesis of successful strategies across disparate organizations and scientific disciplines.
- Initiating and facilitating community-building among various stakeholders to advance collaboration and accelerate development and adoption of successful strategies for digitization.
- Delivering successful strategies for digitization via a digitization help desk, a digitization knowledgebase, and other deliverables for the community.
- Participating in leadership of the iDigBio project and its deliverables through membership on the iDigBio Steering Committee and direction of several iDigBio working groups.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and four years of experience in a related science or research services field; or high school diploma/equivalent and eight years of experience in a related science or research services field (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
